Brigadier (Retd) Iftikhar Ahmad Mir

Brigadier (Retd) Iftikhar Ahmad Mir (Sitara-e-Bisalat) was martyred on July 17, 2003 by three masked terrorist who broke into his house. According to details three unknown terrorists entered Brig. Mir’s house, located near Army House Rawalpindi, and started firing at him. Brig. Mir alongwith his Brother in-law Malik Abdul Aziz (Retired Commander Merchant Navy) was having his lunch at that time. He was rushed to Combined Military Hospital where, after a prolonged surgery, Brig. Mir succumbed to the bullet injuries. Malik Andul Aziz was also injured in this incident. Brig. Mir’s mother, sister, and two nieces were also present in the house at that time. Brig. Mir’s sister asked the intruders to take away jewelry, cash etc. and not to harm anyone but her pleas were ignored.
