Five arrested over mosque attack

BOGOR: Bogor Police arrested on Sunday five people suspected of attacking the Qodiyan Mosque, used by Ahmadiyah followers, in Leuwisadeng subdistrict, Leuwiliang district, Bogor regency.

Head of Bogor Police detectives unit Adj. Comr. Budi Sartono said the five people were arrested after the police questioned them about their involvement in the attack on the mosque on Friday.

“We received information about the arrest from Leuwiliang Police substation, but their names are being withheld,” Budi was quoted by as saying, adding that the police were questioning six other people.

Leuwiliang Police chief Adj. Comr. Imam Soedarso said that the situation in the subdistrict was under control.

He said the police would continue to patrol the subdistrict to prevent further attacks on the mosque, which had been cordoned off with crime tape. — JP
